2014 NSW Pole Championships

Watch out! It’s Studio Verve overload at the 2014 NSW Pole Championships with not just one competitor…. but four successful finalists in the amateur, professional and group divisions!

This year APC (Australian Pole Championships) received over 250 entries from around the country, with an exceptionally high level of competitors. We are extremely proud of our qualifying instructors and students. We’d like to wish them all the very best as they prepare to take the stage this Saturday 26 July. We know you’re going to rock it! In no particular order, here are the hard working Ververs getting ready to represent:

Professional Division Finalist: Jennifer Grace

Studio Verve instructor Jennifer Grace is a 2014 NSW Pole Championships Professional finalist

Often referred to as “Grace” by name and “Grace” by nature; Jennifer placed ‘2nd Runner Up’ in last year’s APC Amateur Division. She is excited to return to the stage for what will be her second ever competition. In her former life as a classical ballet dancer, Jennifer performed with the Premier State Ballet, The West Australian Ballet and trained with the Argentine Ballet Company. As a pole dancer Jennifer Grace has performed with Pole Evolution Dance Company and X-Pole’s “Pole Reflections International Showcase” in 2011 at Sydney Theatre. She has featured on Australia’s “Dancing with The Stars”, “What’s Good for You” and “Ready Steady Cook.” Jen is a PoleFit® instructor at Studio Verve Dance Fitness and is extremely passionate about sharing her love of pole and dance with all her students

Amateur Division Finalist: Jane Rhiana

Studio Verve instructor Jane Rhiana is a 2014 NSW Pole Championships Amateur finalist

Jane Rhiana’s pole journey began in 2011, when she began seeking an alternative to the same old, monotonous gym routine. A qualified group fitness coach and personal trainer, Jane wanted something to push her physical boundaries, provide a challenge and keep her motivated. Her search ended when she discovered Studio Verve Dance Fitness. Pole dancing has since become more than just a workout; Jane’s life revolves around pole! Her passion and determination to achieve new skills is forever growing, and she is now a proud PoleFit instructor at Studio Verve, passing on her enthusiasm for pole to her own students.

Group Divison Finalists: D’Archangel

D'Archangel dancers Michael & Kayla

The creative force of D’Archangel is a duo formed by contemporary pole dancers Michael and Kayla. Both confess that pole dancing has progressed from a being a simple hobby and way of working out, to a driving passion in their lives. Their bond was formed as students of Studio Verve Dance Fitness, where they were encouraged to infuse pole dance with emotion. Michael and Kayla are a constant source of support for each other, offering guidance and encouragement to realise their full potential as pole artists. They look forward to bringing the power of D’Archangel to the stage.

Group Division Finalists: Fusion Five

Studio Verve instructors aka "Fusion Five" have been selected as finalists for the 2014 NSW Pole Championships Group Division

Fusion Five came together during a teacher training course at Studio Verve Dance Fitness, where they are now all qualified PoleFit instructors, sharing their passion for pole with their dedicated students. This unlikely crew formed a bond through their love of pole dancing, discovering that their very different attributes and strengths worked creatively together. Fusion Five’s debut performance was in 2013 at a Studio Verve Showcase and are thrilled to be competing together for the first time.

The NSW Pole Championships will be held at the The Concourse Theatre on July 26th 2014 and it will feature some of our states best pole dancers as well as Joanna Littlewood-Johnson, current Australian Pole Championships Professional Champion and International Pole Championships Masters Champion.
