What made you start pole dance classes?
I started pole because I wanted to improve my fitness and I thought that it looked like a fun and different type of exercise to try! I convinced a friend to come along and I’ve been coming for around 5 years now!

What motivates you to keep coming to classes at Pole Athletica®?
I love the environment and the culture of the studio - it's so friendly and supportive. Even if you've had a stressful day, you’re guaranteed to have a laugh at class and feel so much better after. I also enjoy how it keeps challenging me, and I'm motivated by the positive changes I'm seeing in my strength and flexibility.

What changes have you noticed in your life since you started pole dancing?
I have definitely become stronger and more flexible. I've also become more aware of what my body can do and have developed more of an interest in health and fitness.

How does pole dancing make you feel about yourself?
I feel really proud of what I've achieved and what pole skills I can now do. Things that used to scare me don’t so much anymore and I’m excited to see what I might be able to achieve next. I'm not a dancer and still not that graceful, but there is no judgment at the studio and everyone works to their own abilities.

What changes have family and friends noticed in you/your appearance since you started pole?
They've noticed how much stronger and fitter I've become. They are also really proud and impressed by the moves I can do.

What is your next goal for pole?
My nemesis is shoulder mounts!! I’d really like to improve those this year and feel more confident in them.

What is your favourite thing about Pole Athletica®?
I love the energy in the studio and the friendships that are made here. The students are your biggest support and your biggest cheerleaders when you nail a move!

What is the most challenging thing about pole dancing?
The pain in some of the moves and not letting your mind get the better of you! Trust yourself!

What are your favourite things about pole dancing?
There have been so many unexpected benefits! I love how it makes you feel strong, sexy and capable of anything. The exercise is also great for your mental health.

Who do you think would benefit from pole dancing?
Anybody who would like to improve their fitness and flexibility while having a great time!

How long can you see yourself pole dancing for?
For as long as I am physically able! I don’t want to ever give it up!
